Tianyu (Tom) Liu, MD is a board-certified Retinal Specialist at  Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania. Dr. Liu will join Eye Consultants of Pennsylvania in September 2025.

Fellowship-trained in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Associated Retinal Consultants, Royal Oak, MI, Dr. Liu completed his medical degree at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received multiple awards and honors, including the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and the Research to Prevent Blindness Medical Student Fellowship Award. Dr. Liu was an Intern in Medicine at Reading Hospital/Tower Health and completed his ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his undergraduate degree from Swarthmore College.

Dr. Liu completed his Vitreoretinal Surgery fellowship at Associated Retinal Consultants in Royal Oak, MI, one of the top fellowship programs in the country. He was awarded the Ronald G. Michels Fellowship Foundation Award, one of the highest honors for vitreoretinal surgery fellows in the United States.

Dr. Liu’s clinical interests include the management of complex retinal diseases such as retinal detachments, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. He has made significant contributions to ophthalmic research, publishing numerous peer-reviewed articles in leading medical journals and earning multiple awards and recognitions.

He will see patients in our Wyomissing, Pottsville and Pottstown offices.
